Join us as we protect you from grizzly bears and squirrels alike while we tour and teach you night photography at this geothermal wonderland full of vibrant pools, explosive geysers, and inspiring vistas of the night sky.

September 13 - 16 Lake Powell, Arizona

Join us is the sandstone labyrinth of Lake Powell exploring and capturing emerald water ways, towering backcountry canyons, and expanses of remote desert and lake wilderness! For this extremely unique adventure photography trip we explore via boat the remote wilderness of Lake Powell, capturing secret canyons and have easy access guiding you to shoot night photography from iconic spots that are typically extremely difficult getting to. Enjoy camping under the stars, swims on backcountry beaches, and night photography adventures capturing the stars over epic canyon vistas with a group of small adventure and photography lovers surrounded by soul touching remote wilderness!

Just like our Navajo Nights workshop, you can join us in the backcountry of Northern Arizona as we tour you around working with local Navajo and Hopi guides to explore, capture, and even 4x4 and backcountry camp with us at the most vibrant and otherwordly canyons in the world with pristine dark skies! The elevation, remoteness, and colors of the vibrant Dakota and Entrada sandstone layers are a potent mix amazing night photography and will leave an impression on your soul! This tour includes exclusive access to Coal Mine Canyon, Tatahatso Point, Blue Canyon, and the classic Antelope Canyon.

Our first NON-PHOTOGRAPHY based adventure trip! Join us in the 8th wonder of the world as we explore the endless sandstone canyons of Lake Powell on a truly one-of-a-kind backcountry boating, adventure, and camping trip. We got asked by enough people who want to adventure but aren’t serious astrophotographers to do this trip, so here it is! We guide our small group uplake deep into the backcountry labyrinth of the Lake Powell and immerse ourselves in golden cathedrals of eroded rock, emerald green waters, sweeping canyon lake views, backcountry desert beaches, the largest natural bridge in America, and the darkest skies in the Southwest! This trip is our most adventurous and wild trip of the year for those looking for a challenging but rewarding unique adventure experience to make unforgettable memories with a small group of like-minded adventure and nature lovers.

October 15 - 20 Hanksville, Utah

Moab’s beautiful, lesser known sister! Hanksville is a small town surrounded by immense beauty: expansive badlands, colorful bentonite hills, and epic sandstone cathedrals! Join us for an immersive astro + photography adventures as we tour you around to the natural beauty of Hanksville while teaching you how to capture it all! This workshop is a balanced mix of camping under the stars surrounded by natural beauty with hands on photography instruction; as well as staying in hotels where we do our post processing classes.

White Sands

October 22 - 26 Alamogordo, New Mexico

Join us for exclusive after dark access in White Sands National Park to capture the expansive white dunes during the best light; sunset, twilight, and full darkness when the stars are out! Watching the colorful southwest sunsets burn off into twilight and night skies is a one-of-a-kind soul touching experience here. This workshop includes a special adventure to capture one of the most densely populated petroglyph areas in the country.

Join Derek Culver and Tom Rae in the underground limestone river systems of New Zealand capturing millions of webs of bioluminescent Glow Worms! Working closely with private farms and cave systems, we will have exclusive access to the world’s most spectacular grottos and tunnels where we will teach you the art of capturing Glow Worms. Many people try and fail, as this is much more difficult than capturing the night sky- Between our hands on lessons and exclusive access to private tunnels that have never been captured before, you will leave this workshop with a deep understanding of long exposure photography, advanced editing techniques, and incredible pictures of this magical phenomenon. We will be staying in dark sky areas near each incredible cave we capture, so there will also be lots of opportunities to capture the Southern Night skies like the Megellanic Clouds and Vela Nebulae Complex as well when the weather cooperates.
